Description:  Port Operations Manager
Baltimore  

About the role The role is responsible for the inbound/outbound logistics services and operations for Lotus Cars US. This includes the efficient movement of finished ICE and BEV vehicles from port of entry to dealers and onto end users. Requires a major contributor to the achievement of the Direct Sales volume ensuring customer satisfaction and revenue targets are achieved. The overriding challenge of the role will be to ensure the seamless, efficient, and timely movement of ICE vehicles from UK through to the end user. You must be able to support a fast-moving retail operation ensuring vehicles are moved in an efficient & timely manner to ensure targets are met.

Key responsibilities:  Include establishing core capabilities; executing those activities; monitoring and overseeing lead service providers and ocean carriers in support of deliveries, warehouses, and freight forwarders; reducing transit and dwell times, port congestion; driving vehicle lead-time and managing quality and reliability initiatives.This role will manage the inbound delivery of ICE and BEV vehicles from UK to dealers in the US:Inventory: Lead day-to-day inventory and total vehicle pipeline levels. Develop strategies to reduce vehicle lead-time and increase delivery reliability.Quality: Lead day-to-day vehicle quality activities to obtain a damage free deliveryBudget: Drive key initiatives in support of the logistics budgetMonitor and oversee regional lead service providers and ocean carriers in support of on-time deliveries.Reduce transit and dwell times for trade lanes, both import and exportDrive for cost savings and performance improvements from suppliers.Managing / monitoring the performance of and working with Third Party storage, PDI & distributor providersZero downtime due to transportationKnowledge, skills, and experience Essential:  Requires a broad understanding of ICE and BEV vehicle import and onward distribution for sale.Knowledge of port operationsStrong leadership skillsA customer centric approach to every aspect of aftersales operationsExcellent communication and influencing skills at all levels.A natural sales ability to ensure agency parts purchase targets are met.Deliver on promises and commitments.Clean US driving licence Valid US passport/RTW in the US:
Desirable:  Previous automotive logistics experienceAPICS CLTD certification or equivalent
