JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the management and coordination of production in order to meet production schedules, safety, quality, and cost objectives. Responsible for overseeing the control and operation of an entire chemical process or system, including reaction chemistry processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Responsible for the timely delivery of manufactured finished product from raw material delivery through the manufacturing and shipping processes. 2. Responsible to identify, track and report department performance and efficiency. 3. Investigate performance errors and initiate corrective action. 4. Responsible to ensure safe work practices, including the maintenance of a clean and safe work place. 5. Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. 6. Responsible for ensuring quality products and leading continuous improvement efforts. 7. Responsible to ensure all employees receive necessary quality, safety and production training and education. 8. Identify and communicate corrective actions for spill and accident prevention. 9. Develop goals and objectives for department employees. 10. Administer subordinates performance appraisals, professional appraisals, professional development, and compensation. 11. Responsible to administer departmental compensation and expense budgets. 12. Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION :
BS Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
EXPERIENCE :
15+ years related experience and training. Demonstrated hands-on experience in chemical plant operations is required.
Knowledgeable in Leadership and Managerial principles.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to various audiences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
