Job Title: Physician - Hospitalist Cost Center: ******** Mfld-Hospitalist Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Time Type: Full time Job Description: Marshfield Clinic has multiple openings for Hospitalists for its location in Marshfield, WI. Duties: Act as physician of record for patients admitted to the hospital. The duties of the position include the following: diagnose and treat diseases and injuries of human internal organ systems; examine patients for symptoms of organic or congenital disorders and determine nature and extent of injury or disorder, referring to diagnostic images and tests, and using medical instruments and equipment; prescribe medication and recommend dietary and activity program, as indicated by diagnosis; refer patients to medical specialists when indicated. Duties will be primarily performed on hospital, Ambulatory Surgery Center or Urgent Care premises. Some outpatient clinic care may be required as needed for patient follow-up or other appropriate care. There may be resident and/or fellow physicians from the University of Wisconsin - Madison School of Medicine rotating on rounds whom the Hospitalist may instruct and help train. The position requires: medical degree (M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent); successful completion of residency in internal medicine; must have or be eligible for licensure to practice medicine from the State of Wisconsin; must be eligible for hospital and health plan privileges, and may not at any time have been or be excluded from participation in any federally funded program, including Medicare and Medicaid.
