Responsibilities
• Finalize sales using cash register and follow proper cash handling policies and procedures• Use computer skills to process and maintain all patient information and records• Participate in departmental quality improvement activities• Maintain and update automated med stations, stock, emergency boxes, and crash carts• Maintain controlled substance records and the distribution process• Provide and receive information to hospital personnel, patients, and visitors• Procure and maintain adequate inventory levels• Audit and maintain accurate records for controlled substances• Ensure safe and secure storage of medications• Comply with Federal, State, and Department regulations
Requirements
• Proficiency in essential technician functions• Knowledge of Department of Health, The Joint Commission, and State Board of Pharmacy regulations• Computer skills• Accuracy and skill in maintaining controlled substance records• Good communication skills• Ability to maintain inventory levels• Compliance with Federal and State laws• Organization and cleanliness skills
