Responsibilities
• Process medication orders and prepare and assist in the dispensing of medications• Coordinate the timely processing and delivery of medication orders• Perform specific functions required in the unit dose, parenteral, and packaging areas• Prepare technical and clerical tasks associated with the preparation, labeling, and dispensing of pharmaceuticals• Play an integral role in inventory and quality assurance activities• Fill medication orders through the automated carousel-storage system• Process parenteral medication orders and prepare intravenous admixtures• Process stock replacement requests• Prepackage tablets, capsules, liquids, and other medications• Clean, sanitize, and maintain compounding and related equipment
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent• Current valid license as a pharmacy technician in the State of Illinois• Current valid pharmacy technician certification• General hospital experience as a licensed pharmacy technician preferred
