Japanese construction company seeks a Payroll Specialist.

Location: San Jose, CA
Work hours: Mon- Friday 8 or 8:30AM - 5 or 5:30PM
*Working in the office 5 days/week is required during training. (Hybrid available after training)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and timely while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.

Duties:
- Process payroll for employees accurately and on time
- Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
- Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
- Determine payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments

Skills:
- Proficiency in payroll software (Paychex)
- Understanding of tax regulations related to payroll processing
