JGA is partnering with a growing global business to help them expand their US team. Are you looking to join a young, dynamic & growing brand?
The HR & Payroll Specialist is an on-site(4 days) role that will be responsible for the day-to-day HR and Payroll function for 100 employees across 5 personal training gyms, in CA, DC & MD.
Reporting to the UK-based Head of Global HR and working alongside the UK HR and Payroll teams with on and off-boarding, general employee queries and administration, bi-weekly payroll processing including calculating wages, deductions, bonuses, and other payroll adjustments, employee relations, policies support for onsite managers and benefit & healthcare enrolment.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES- Payroll Processing: Collecting and reviewing timekeeping information for accuracy and completeness across all locations. Calculating wages, deductions, overtime, and commissions in compliance with California, Washington D.C., and Maryland state regulations. Ensuring compliance with state and federal payroll regulations for all covered jurisdictions. Processing payroll through the chosen payroll system accurately and on time for employees in all locations.
Addressing any discrepancies or issues with employee pay across all locations. Benefits Administration: Managing employee benefits enrolment, changes, and terminations for employees in California, Washington D.C., and Maryland. Serving as the primary point of contact for benefits-related questions and concerns across all locations. Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations regarding employee benefits in California, Washington D.C., and Maryland. Coordinating open enrolment periods and communicating benefit options to employees in all covered jurisdictions. HR Compliance: Ensuring compliance with state and federal laws related to employee rights across all covered jurisdictions. Maintaining accurate records and documentation to demonstrate compliance with regulations in California, Washington D.C., and Maryland. Employee Relations: Assisting with employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions across all locations. Serving as a resource for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and employment-related questions in California, Washington D.C., and Maryland. supporting managers with coaching and guidance on HR matters in all covered jurisdictions. Audits and Compliance Reviews: Assisting with internal and external audits of payroll and HR processes across all locations. Conduct regular reviews of HR and payroll practices to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with regulations in California, Washington D.C., and Maryland. Implementing corrective actions as needed to address audit findings and improve processes for employees in all covered jurisdictions. Additional responsibilities include:
