Position Overview:
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Payment & Credit Analyst (Electronic) to join our team. In this vital role, you will handle, prepare, and process remittances for all our facilities, ensuring both accuracy and promptness in posting. You will play a critical role in analyzing and resolving discrepancies in remittance payments and applying the appropriate adjustments, including contractual allowances, patient responsibilities, and denial amounts, to patient accounts. This position also involves researching and resolving credit balances on patient accounts, preparing refunds, and managing associated tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately receive, prepare, and post payments through electronic remittances.
- Analyze and resolve issues related to remittance payments promptly.
- Ensure appropriate application of denial codes, contractual allowances, and patient responsibility amounts on patient accounts.
- Investigate patient accounts with credit balances and process necessary refunds.
- Maintain high standards of data integrity and accuracy in all operations.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of three years of experience in medical cash payments, collections, or billing.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in EPIC Medical Records Systems, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Understanding of explanation of benefits (EOBs) and patient statements.
- Familiarity with standard office equipment, such as telephones, computers, fax machines, copiers, and printers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five years of experience in a similar role.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification.
Additional Information:
This position offers the flexibility to work from home, although initial training may be conducted onsite at our facilities. For business purposes, occasional visits to our facilities may also be required. Candidates must reside in Kentucky or Indiana to be eligible for this role.
