Patent Prosecution Legal Assistant

Merchant & Gould is a leader in intellectual property law.They are looking for a highly skilled patent prosecution legal assistant with five+ years of experience.The professional must be organized, detail-oriented, and have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities
• Establish and maintain patent files.• Review incoming correspondence from the USPTO and foreign associates.• Maintain clients' portfolios and facilitate communication between attorney and client.• Maintain and update docketing log spreadsheet.• Communicate with attorneys, clients, and foreign associates.• Perform other administrative tasks and projects as assigned.
Requirements
• BA degree and/or paralegal certificate or 5 years experience in US patent prosecution.• Familiarity with electronic case management systems and USPTO rules.• Familiarity with prosecution of US Trademark applications is a plus.• Ability to work with advanced computer software and maintain a computer database.• Ability to work independently and meet critical deadlines.• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks under time constraints.• Interpersonal skills and high level of responsibility and accuracy.• Occasional irregular hours and regular attendance at work.
