Evaluate possible design solutions to improve cost, quality, and performance based on knowledge of engineering applications Compile and furnish necessary information to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design, with possible involvement of other functional engineers or support groups Work with design engineers on new designs, test benches, and evaluation of existing system and sub systems Apply existing applications to routine problems This position is NOT available to students on immigration visas. What Skills You Need Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science; others may apply Must be registered as a full-time student at a U.S. accredited college/university  Graduation date of December 2024 or later Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above Available to work during the summer semester 35-40 hours/weekly Must be able to commute to the work location in Thibodaux, on a daily basis during the summer (NOTE: Relocation assistance is not provided.)  Knowledge of engineering principles, theory, and practice as well as product knowledge Fundamental understanding of machine forms relevant to the specific job assignment Professional or academic experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, SAP Professional or academic experience with electrical Tools, such as crimping tools, soldering, troubleshooting, reading schematics What Makes You Stand Out Experience with communication tools: CAN protocols, J1939, Can Parse, Vector, CANoe Experience with sensor applications: Proximity, ultrasonic, accelerometers, capacitive, etc. Experience with data analysis and SW skills: Tableau, Python, C, C++, Oracle Experience with building wiring harnesses At John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go while working in an inclusive team environment.
