Position Purpose: Pawsperity opened its doors in January 2016 as the country's only nonprofit grooming school. Our mission is to empower struggling families to become self-reliant through the provision of job training in the art of pet grooming, low-income housing, life skills, and practical solutions to end their cycle of poverty.
Pawsperity is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic detail-oriented individual to join the Development Team as a part-time Development Associate. The Development Associate is an integral member of the Development and Marketing team, which supports and assists in fundraising, events, and administrative functions that are vital to the continued success of Pawsperity and its mission. And, after a hard day's work, this individual gets to go home knowing they are making a difference in people's lives.
The hourly wage for this position is $17-$19.Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining accurate and current donor database records.Perform regular data entry, as well as process, and acknowledge all gifts in a timely and accurate manner.Prepare donor acknowledgement communications and letters.Coordinate and/or assist with coordination of Pawsperity events, including communicating with vendors, volunteer coordination, and event set-up/tear down. May need to fluctuate hours during event weeks.Assist with preparing and mailing fundraising appeals and packets.Produce lists, data extractions, lists, and reports as needed for direct mail and other reporting efforts.Assist the Development Team in cultivating and stewarding relationships with individual donors, grant funders, and corporate partners.Maintain and update online forms and information relating to fundraising events and opportunities.Assist with invoice coding and submission.Order team supplies as needed.Assist with planning and execution of fundraising projects and events.Help with development and maintenance of prospect lists and communications.
Minimum Requirements:
The following are preferred education, competencies, and experience:
Bachelor's degree.Data-driven with extreme attention to detail and a commitment to accurate and concise data.Experience using reporting tools to research and create reports as requested in fundraising software/CRM. Specific Bloomerang knowledge a plus.Experience accepting and recording donor gifts for a nonprofit organization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on clarity and professionalism. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. 1-2 years of experience working in fundraising or project organization (nonprofit experience preferred). Ability to think and plan strategically.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management software. 
Necessary Physical/Mental Abilities:
Ability to demonstrate support for innovation and for organizational change.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Ability to keep donor information confidential.Work Schedule:
No more than 20 hours per week, based upon workload.
