Salary: $19,750 - $24,000 Annually
Since its founding in 1972, Interfaith Works (IW) has provided extensive wraparound services to the most vulnerable residents of Montgomery County, Maryland. Our 14 interrelated and co-located programs prevent individuals from falling through the safety net, stabilize housing and financial circumstances, and empower individuals and families to lift themselves out of poverty and homelessness. Our team of 190 professionals administer programs that include emergency financial assistance, distribution of free food and clothing, vocational services, and a complete continuum of housing. Using our Lift Strategy: Prevent, Stabilize, and Empower, we support more than 35,000 individuals annually.
POSITION SUMMARY Reporting directly to the Executive Assistant to the CEO, the Administrative Assistant provides support to IW's Operations Team at the corporate office. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting the Executive Assistant to the CEO by scheduling, fielding phone calls, and managing special projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Answer Interfaith Works phone at Rollins office and address general inquiries from donors, clients, vendors, partners, and staff and/or forward calls/emails to correct team members or department. Assist with all incoming and outgoing mail and packages. Assist with daily check deposits. Support clients and help address their needs and connect them with the appropriate staff member(s). Welcome clients and visitors into the building and notify staff of their visitors. Help staff and partners schedule appointments in our conference rooms. Help set-up and close-up any group meetings in our conference rooms. Record all concerns and complaints and follow up with the appropriate Program Director and/or Director. Assists with scheduling meetings under the direction of the Executive Assistant to the CEO. Liaise with the Board of Directors under the direction of the Executive Assistant to the CEO Other projects/duties as assigned for the overall benefit of the Operations and HR Departments and the organization. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) Strong organizational skills that reflect an ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail. Easily adaptable and flexible with shifting priorities. Strong interpersonal skills. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel, primarily) Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills. Ability to react with appropriate levels of urgency to situations and events that require quick response. Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Ability to demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service. Ability to understand the importance of small details and how they affect the final outcome of a project. Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective. High School Diploma or equivalent.
