Job Description The Overnight Behavioral Technician  provides client supervision and staff/unit support as assigned. The health, welfare and safety of our participants is the main-focus of your position. Monitor and track activities of participants and document all observations and actions. Check facility, grounds and participants regularly for security and or safety hazards.
Responsibilities Must remain awake for the total of shift from 11pm to 7am. Observes client location and documents observation on the daily 15-Minute Check Sheet (minimum of every ½ hour during overnight shifts). Observes self-administration of client medications and follow medication documentation protocol (only after provided with appropriate training per company policy). Ensures safety and security of the premises by conducting regular house and perimeter perimeter checks  Observes and monitors clients' documents observations in clients' records via tech notes for overnight shift. Communicate with clinical team all pertinent client information via the Staff Communications Log and/or Progress Notes in the clients' charts. Write shift notes (including check in and check out as well as a summary of the shift events) in the Staff Communication Log. Perform Intake procedures with new clients in the event of an after-hours admission. Procedures include (but are not limited to) completing the admission paperwork from the chart with the client, searching client's belongings, locking up any contraband and medication items in their appropriate places, performing a search of the client, collecting a urine specimen from the clients, notifying the appropriate physican and staff of the client's arrival, and completing the Intake Procedure Checklist (If applicable). Conduct new client orientation, including introducing client to the other clients and staff members, educating client on the house rules, and providing client with a tour of the facility when an after-hours admission occurs and instructed to do so (If applicable). Follow emergency procedures exactly (including following notification protocol, following directives given from supervisor , transportation, etc.). Conduct UA drug screen collection when directed, following appropriate procedures. Conduct room searches as needed. Attend mandatory staff meeting . Maintain consistency with carrying out rules of the program as established by Prosperity Wellness Center. Maintain professional and compassionate interaction with clients. Assure the unit milieu is physically safe at all times. Assure the unit is sanitary through cleaning, emptying trashes, straightening up, etc., per the Residential and Continuing Care Checklist and through personal initiative.  Report structural and operational issues to Advisor Supervisor. Create shift summary reports at end of each shift. Wash/Dry laundry, for preparation for next business day. Hours This is a full-time position that will work 5 days per week from 11:00pm-7:30am.  Qualifications Computer competence (Microsoft Word). Compassionate Communication Skills. Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with clients. Previous experience working in the treatment field preferred. Previous group facilitation experience preferred 1 year or more sobriety if personally represented as "recovering". Current CPR/First Aid Must demonstrate ability to provide and/or facilitate the providing of appropriate care based on client individual needs, including the age demographics of Authentic Recovery's client population, 18-65.
