Responsibilities
• Conduct tests to measure intraocular pressure.• Measure visual acuity.• Take patient medical histories.• Administer topical ophthalmic medications.• Conduct visual field tests.• Operate, clean and maintain ophthalmic/surgical instruments, equipment and facilities.• Take measurements of the eye.• Measure lens power.• Assist physicians in performing surgical procedures.• Conduct ocular motility tests.• Communicate telephonically with patients regarding scheduling or to inquire about post-operative status or recovery.• Assist with Laser Vision Coordinator overflow.• Execute core processes.• Front desk administrative duties
Requirements
• High school diploma or GED required. Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.• At least one year of experience as an ophthalmic, optometric, or medical technician preferred.• Previous refractive surgery experience is a plus.• Fluency of the English language.• Excellent oral and written comprehension and expression.• Speech clarity and recognition.• Active learning and listening.• Ability to respond to common inquiries and provide information to patients and colleagues.• Good interpersonal skills.• Spanish speaking is a plus.
