What you will do!
The primary purpose of this position is to support the Farm to Child Nutrition Program. ODE's Farm to Child Nutrition Program manages the ODE Farm to School Grant. The Farm to School grant provides many opportunities for current Child Nutrition Program sponsors to receive reimbursement for the purchases and consumption of Oregon produced and processed food and reimburses sponsors for food, agriculture, or farm-based educational activities, as well as provides opportunities for non-profit organizations to teach Oregon students about Oregon grown and processed food.

Typical duties include:

Providing office support to Farm to School Program.

Coordinating and communicating with internal team members and external partners to ensure grant administration.

Providing technical assistance to program sponsors, ensuring notification of award eligibility, and monitoring related documentation.

What you need to qualify
Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents

OR

An associate degree in any field

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience

Desired Attributes (what we are looking for):

Experience providing secretarial and office support including screening incoming communications and maintaining electronic and manual records, logs, and documentation.

Familiarity with computer software programs such as Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Smartsheet, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, webinar software, and virtual meeting software such as Teams and Zoom.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to respond to routine and non-routine issues with diplomacy and tact.

Experience working in a fast paced environment and ability to multitask, independently manage time and task prioritization with attention to detail.

Ability to provide customer service and technical assistance to internal and external partners professionally and accurately.

Experience working with a positive and professional approach and ability to maintain a work environment that is respectful and accepting of diversity among team members and the people served.
