Overview:

Job Title:Network Engineer Support

Location:Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD

Security Clearance: Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance (Interim Secret Clearance is acceptable)

Requisition Type:Funded

Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.

Job Responsibilities:

The Network Engineer will be responsible for management of the computer network.

Familiarity of the feature sets and capability enhancements installed on the core router's required to complete circuit connectivity and critical to maintenance of the theater network.

Knowledgeable and understanding of existing circuit routing and voice capabilities in theater that are required to ensure that not only Voice over the SIPR (VOSIP), but all service connectivity is maintained .

Knowledge of other key facets of on-site technical support include conducting systems testing ( e.g. Noise Figure Measurements, Phase Noise), technical guidance, network setup with routers, switches, and IP accelerators, VoIP, VoIP switched infrastructure, Call Manager configuration, system troubleshooting, establishing efficient procedures to resolve trouble tickets, and coordinating the deployment of software release and equipment training.

Experience with installation, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the RF/satellite, IP network, and fiber distribution systems. functions that includes designing, installing, configuring, maintaining , troubleshooting, and diagnosing of network infrastructure and its application components for CJTF, ARCENT, and collation partner networks.

Knowledge of the functions involving administration and maintenance of following sample hardware list.

ASR, Nexus, 7200s, 3900s, 3800s, 6500s, 4500s, 3700s, 3500s, ASAs, and Netscreens .

Knowledgeable but not limited to services, systems and applications:

O&M of GEM-X servers

Administration of ACS/TACACS (Terminal Access Controller Access Control System) servers, user accounts, and administrator accounts at RNOSC-A level and below

CiscoWorks Network Configuration Management (CWNCW) administration

IP management, validation, and identification and resolution of IP conflicts

Creation of network health reports for Tier 1, 1.2, and 1.3 devices

Administration of Tier 1.2/1.3 devices

O&M of Route Explorer

Application of CCNP level skills with CCIE knowledge (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and DMVPN/NHRP)

TACLANE

TACACS/ACS

CWNCM

Route Explorer/Packet Design

Cisco IOS

NETQoS

Experience in writing technical documentation and doing amendments.

Travel CONUS/OCONUS to support missions up to 25%.

Minimum Qualifications:

A minimum of four (4) years of progressively complex experience in computer simulation, client-server architectures, advanced networking techniques and protocols, data bases (flat-file, relational, and object-oriented), high-order programming languages, and operating systems (e.g., UNIX/ULTRIX, HP-UX, SUN-OS, VAX/VMS, Harris VOS).

A minimum of two (2) years of design and development of advanced networking techniques and protocols, data base management systems, and programming in high order languages (e.g., C, C++, ADA, FORTRAN)

The following required certifications: Network+, Security

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred, OR an Associate's degree plus 7 total years of recent specialized experience, OR 11 total years of recent specialized experience.
