Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of a team that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. The Navy Enterprise Service Desk (NESD) is seeking a Systems Administrator Senior to join their team.
This is a REMOTE working opportunity.
The Navy is consolidating all Tier-1 IT service desks and moving from a human-centered Subject Matter Expert (SME)-based business model to a business model using a Knowledge-Based (KM) solution called Navy Enterprise Service Desk (NESD).
As the Systems Administrator, you will support the Lead Solutions Architect, Technical Delivery Manager, and Cloud Team Lead responsible for implementing and maintaining the program's virtual infrastructure, architecture, and integrations with partner and customer systems. In this role, you should bring senior level technical experience, enterprise maturity, and drive for success to the team.
This position requires the ability to perform the following responsibilities/functions:
Provide support for NESD resources including but not limited to: Systems; Integrations; Cloud-Based Infrastructure and Tools, Networking, Monitoring, and Security. Coordinate and document network and perimeter security related change requests with host organizations (Navy DC2HS & DISA), Cyber SME, and partner/customer integrated systems. Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, applications, system management tools, and AWS cloud-base infrastructure. Collaborate with infrastructure engineers and administrators to maintain, monitor, and enhance secure systems using computing and cloud services and tools. Define, implement, and document SOPs and automation for daily and periodic tasks to drive operational dependability and efficiency. Define, implement, and document best practices to provide cost-effective technical solutions for highly secure and highly available systems, in coordination with leadership, team, Cyber SME, customer, and partners. Effectively communicate status and measurable work products to leadership and customers. Preferred Technical Knowledge: High level understanding of cybersecurity standards, frameworks, methodologies and industry best practices (NIST, FedRAMP, STIG, GovCloud, etc.) Basic knowledge of Networking - Cloud or Traditional Networking, Routing, port and protocol-based Firewall, OSI Model Preferred Technology Experience: AWS GovCloud Services or similar RHEL or other Linux or other UNIX Operating Systems Code or Shell Languages such as JSON, Bash, Python Evaluate-STIG, ACAS, Tenable Nessus Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk PKI, SSO Basic Qualifications: BS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree 3+ years of systems administrator experience Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or commitment to acquire within 6 months of start date. DoD IAT II certified DoD Secret Clearance , with suitability for DoD Top Secret Clearance, and
The likely salary range for this position is $68,000 - $102,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Scheduled Weekly Hours:
