Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Mine Engineer. The primary function of this position is to provide engineering support to the mine operating department.Summary of Responsibilities:Willing to learn and accept responsibility in areas such as; drilling, blasting, dispatch system administration, and short and long-range mine planning.Willing to fill in where needed; including GPS surveying, drone pilot, and special projects.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mine Engineering, Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering is required.Must have experience in Vulcan Mine Software, or similar programs.Training or experience in surveying/GPS is required.Good understanding of general business concepts.Computer Skills - Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office software.Willingness to learn new technologies.People Skills - Must have demonstrated successful interpersonal skillsMust be a champion of safe production methods & ideals. Promotes continuous improvement. Must understand safety, mine and MSHA rules, environmental policies and procedures and operate in an environmentally responsible manner.Organizational Skills - Must have the ability to plan and coordinate multiple work tasks with a variety of employees, departments and outside contractors. Must be able to set goals and develop strategies and schedules to accomplish goals.Decision Making Skills - Utilize a collaborative approach to problem solving and function within a self-direct team environment.Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:Previous related engineering experience is preferred.Experience in ArcView GIS Software is preferred.Please note that all applicants must meet the physical requirements of the position by the close of the posting period.
