This position manages the design, delivery, and evaluation of all seasonal and year-round outdoor program experiences including the operations of overnight and day camps. Serves as the primary programmatic leader for components of our outdoor leadership portfolio with the goal of developing outdoor leadership skills that meet the needs and interests of the target populations, meet designated outcomes, and occur in a safe and quality manner.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Purpose
· To direct all aspects of the council's membership function to ensure the successful design, implementation, delivery, and assessment of a nationally consistent experience for girls residing within the council's jurisdiction and ultimately provide the framework by which girls in Hornets' Nest Council receive a world class Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE).
· To integrate all functions related to membership in order to meet and exceed membership recruitment and retention goals. This includes developing and implementing comprehensive and strategic plans for girl and volunteer membership growth. This will be accomplished through building strong relationships within Council, Service Unit volunteers, schools, key community leaders, families, institutions, and businesses and organizations in order to leverage membership growth and programmatic services.
· To work collaboratively with the council's leadership team, ensuring program implementation supports the council's membership strategy and plans.
Essential Job Functions
Provide direction and support to develop a successful Membership staff, to include:
· Creating a culture of teamwork
· Interpret current and historical membership and market trends data in order to plan, develop, promote and implement a comprehensive strategy to retain and grow membership.
· Responsible for the acquisition and retention of girl members from diverse socio-economic backgrounds in grades K-12 and seeks to serve every girl member over the longest duration.
· Collaborate with Product Program department to increase troop participation in Council product sales.
· Knowledge of the National Program Portfolio, Safety Activity Checkpoints, council policies and procedures, as well as Girl Scout Mission and Council strategic plan and annual plan of work.
· Establish effective reporting mechanism to track and evaluate membership recruitment efforts, retention, strategic plan progress, and membership share.
· Extend Girl Scouting and increase participation in Girl Scouts among girls living in at-risk environments, rural communities or underserved or emerging populations where volunteer leadership has not been identified and/or other barriers for Girl Scout involvement exist.
· Work with GSLE to ensure that all programs are developed in keeping with GS health and safety, sensitive issues, and other guidelines, and that participation in program events is inclusive and representative of all jurisdictions within the council.
· Build collaborative relationships with community organizations, agencies, and businesses to ensure identification of topic area experts, supplemental activities that expand the possibilities for girls across the council, and support for volunteers in the delivery of high-quality experiences.
· Work in partnership to ensure creation and assessment of outcomes,

institutionalization

of best practices, and implementation of necessary modifications.
· In collaboration with Fund Development staff, manage all active grants (including United Way) including interim and final reports, budget management and adherence to all agreed upon grant requirements.
· Contribute to the goal of creating an inclusive organization by working harmoniously with diverse staff and volunteers and ensuring that all systems, practices and procedures are inclusive.
· Successfully developing staff including performance management. Must have experience with leading a team of 8-10 specialists.
· Develop integrated Plan of Work, including objectives and action steps, for all membership and outreach functions.
· Develop and effectively manage assigned budgets.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree
Supervisory experience
Prior experience in outside sales, marketing, community relations, volunteer management or other relevant area is preferred.
