Aerospace Quality Inspector Location: Hunstville, AL Duration: 3-6 mth contract Frequency: 40+ hrs per week (all shifts available) Pay Rate: $28.00/hr to $30.00/hr Full time on-site inspector to support final inspection on Transparencies - Aircraft Windshields, Windscreens, Canopies, Windows and Electrochromic Panels and Lense.
Temporary assignment 40+ hours per week with expected contract duration estimated 120 days, with possible extension. Hiring all 3 shifts.
1st Shift 5am -1pm
2nd Shift 1pm-9pm
3rd Shift 9pm- 5am
Job Summary: The Quality Inspector shall perform First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with Aerospace Standard AS9102. The candidate will ensure the accuracy and completeness of all engineering design requirements records on the AS9102 forms. Confirmation that the First Article Inspection Record (FAIR) is accurate and completed for a part number or assembly and that all part, product, and characteristic accountability aspects are addressed prior to approval. Provide Source Inspection on all parts prior to shipment Requirements: Candidate must have knowledge and practical experience of the AS9102 standard. This should include at least 1 year of experience inspecting all aspects of first article packages in accordance with the standard, along with at least 5 years in quality. Strong background in manufacturing in the aerospace or military / defense industries required. Practical experience inspecting aerospace components and assemblies is necessary as well as knowledge of applicable industry standards is highly desired. Must understand Purchasing documents, specifications, shop planning, drawings, 3D models and other technical instructions. Good communication skills, both written and oral. Must have proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with Net-Inspect software is a plus, but not required. Job Description:
Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), industry standards, and specifications. The inspector will be required to report inspection accept / reject information directly to the customer via web application.
Requirements:
Candidate must have practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on complex machined parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies. The inspections will be performed to engineering requirements specified per ANSI Y14.5 – Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standard. Must have the ability to read / interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs). The candidate must have experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers. Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance to the AS9102 standard and knowledge is required. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years experience performing inspections in aerospace or military / defense manufacturing with proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel. Candidate should be computer savvy and own a laptop for this assignment.
