Primary Responsibilities: The Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineer will be in charge of the bill of
materials for manufacturing our waste-to-energy (plasma gasification) systems. This role will work closely with the COO to ensure that the equipment can be manufactured, assembled, and deployed within budget and time constraints.
Key responsibilities include:
? Making all engineering drawings production-ready, utilizing GD&T and welding standards.
? Managing the fabrication, assembly, and deployment of plasma gasification systems.
? Working with our VP of Manufacturing and 3rd party suppliers to get parts machined, casted, and 3D printed according to specifications and to procure off-the-shelf parts.
? Maintaining detailed project documentation, including project scheduling in MS Project, the main BOM for the gasification systems, progress reports, cost tracking, and change orders.
? Establish a PLM / PDM system (SolidWorks or other software that integrates with SW) including
procedures for testing parts and sub-assemblies, a HAR system, tooling & inventory management, etc.
? Collaborating with our EPC partner on site development and commissioning.
? Present findings, proposals, and project updates to management and clients.
? Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and projects and implement changes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
Qualifications & Requirements:
? Desire to work with a small team in a startup environment and the ability to wear multiple hats.
? Bachelors degree in mechanical or industrial engineering. Masters degree in engineering is a
plus.
? Minimum 3 years experience as an engineer in industry, with direct experience in manufacturing
and supply chain management. Project / engineering management experience is a strong plus.
? High proficiency with SolidWorks.
? Experience managing a complex BOM with many components coming from different
manufacturing partners.
? Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
? Knowledge of power generation equipment (gensets and turbines) is a strong plus.
? Knowledge of pressure vessels and plasma gasification technology or related waste-to-energy
systems is a plus.
