Job Summary The Materials Manager manages the planning and purchasing and supports the warehouse/inventory and shipping functions of the Company. They work with Sales and Manufacturing to develop production schedules from forecasts, assure material availability for production. They coordinate activities with the warehouse and shipping functions to support the timely delivery of customer orders. This position reports to the Executive Vice President.
Responsibilities for the Materials Manager: · Oversee forecasting, material planning and material purchasing function. Support the warehousing and inventory management functions.
· Communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers as well as suppliers to provide sustainable, scalable, and optimized costs.
· Develop new and enhance existing processes, systems and programs in order to improve efficiency, customer service, and drive total cost savings.
· Negotiate agreements addressing capacity, risk, and supply, while meeting business objectives.

· Solid knowledge of IT systems and tools including MRP and ERP.

· Strong USDA & FDA regulated experience - prefer meat processing, prepared foods, frozen foods.

Education/Experience: · BS Degree and/or 10+ years progressive experience in the food industry.
· 5+ years of practical experience in finance, materials sourcing, supply chain and continuous improvement in a high volume manufacturing environment.
