Job Information Assists in managing operational issues to ensure the most effective and efficient product flow through the area. Ensures attainment of inventory accuracy goals. Operates industrial truck equipment with lifting devices to push, pull, lift, stack, tier or move products, equipment and material in warehouse, storage yard or factory. Operates scanners to transact parts into and out of designated locations.
Role & Responsibility Assume additional leadership role whenever necessary, including providing instructions to employees, designing new processes, and attending meetings Pro-actively elevate all employee or yard issues to the supervisor or department manager Identify process bottlenecks, create potential solutions and present them to the supervisor Promote safety practices in area of responsibility and identify any unsafe work conditions to the supervisor Support the tracking and attainment of departmental metrics Responsible for the Housekeeping in the area. Administer 5S responsibilities for the area Move levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. Must be able to drive scissor lift, cherry picker, and forklift at a minimum Position forks, lifting platform or other lifting devices under, over or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, product or materials and transports to designated area. Unload and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device. Load or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids or lifting device by hand as needed. Maintain safety checks on lift truck to ensure it is in safe and proper working order. Perform overtime work as required. Complete transactions upon movement of material to and from locations. Transactional integrity is required. Must be able to operate a scanner and computer for transactions. Report quality issues and concerns as discovered. Keep yard clean and orderly. Assist in the instruction and training of others as requested by supervisor. Job Requirement Any - High School Diploma/Equivalent Experience: 2>5 years Travel Standard: Experience with Oracle and scanners required. Experience with warehousing techniques including FIFO and part consolidation required. Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen experience preferred. Must have demonstrated knowledge and skill completing all jobs in area of responsibility. Must act as a change agent and be a strong team player. Must be self-motivated to complete required jobs. Supervisory or leadership experience preferred Excellent communication skills required. Must be willing to work outside in all elements including rain, cold, and heat Successful completion of a forklift safety class, written forklift operation test and an eye exam to check for peripheral vision is required. Must possess a valid driver's license.
