AVER is seeking a Marketing Communications Specialist to provide communication analytics, strategy, and support for several organizational divisions.Responsibilities include: Work closely with the Assistant Commissioner (AC) Deputy Assistant Commissioner (DAC) and Chief of Staff (COS) as part of a multi-functional team supporting a broad scope of communications dutiesDraft and regularly review charters, templates, policies, SOPs and other guidance materials for standardized development and implementation of communications process and productsManage communications functions, event support, responding to inquiries and issuing messaging to stakeholders, and provide quality control on all products ensuring consistent data and messagingPlan, research, write, and edit internal and external publications designed to engage and inform internal and external stakeholdersHandle, draft, review and package correspondence, supervisor messaging, and other sensitive contentEmploy a variety of marketing/graphics, and public relations strategies that may include email, social media, special events; researches and translates various forms of subject matter to produce content for fact sheets, brochures/branding, newsletters, and other internal or external communicationsReview the effectiveness of communications strategies, materials and programs ensuring effective engagement with personnel and stakeholdersWrite and review executive communication products such as talking points, briefings, and email correspondencesPartner and engage with internal SMEs to identify, develop, and recommend improvement techniques for task and communication managementPerform knowledge management functions for supporting SharePoint content development and updatesManage special projects, assessments, assignments, and technical support to leadershipAnalyze organizational policy issues to identify communication needs, manage changing policies and their effect on stakeholder initiatives, and evaluate the content of new or modified incoming directives, processes, or standardsAdvise and provide analytical support on problem definitions, planning methodologies, policies, procedures, and any internal communications requirements needed to support leadershipEducation Requirements: Bachelor's degree Communications, Marketing, Public Affairs, or related field.Experience Requirements:Six years of relative experience. Experience supporting Federal programs. Demonstrated ability to develop and disseminate communications/messaging in various formats and tailored to various audiences.Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical, consulting, and facilitation skills.Excellent presentation skills.Demonstrated proficiency with communication tools and techniques, i.e., SharePoint.Experience with marketing, graphics, branding, and related content development.Experience planning and coordinating communications-focused events, i.e., staff/supervisor/executive engagements and All-Hands meetings.Desired Requirements:Experience supporting DHS Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.Strong organizational capabilities.
