Our client has a reputation for producing superior quality surgical instrumentation. Their state-of-the-art facility utilizes the latest equipment and advanced technology, operated by highly skilled machinists. The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to the design, development and testing of surgical cutting tools, instruments, and components. This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams, analyzing design specifications, creating prototypes, and conducting performance tests. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications: Proficient in technical drawing techniques and experienced in using technical drawing software programs. Thorough understanding of dimensional blueprint reading.Ability to convert measurements between metric and imperial units. Proficient in SolidWorks Knowledge and ERP is a plus. Responsibilities: Maintain a systematic documentation file system to ensure the latest drawings and specifications are up to date and revised appropriately. Manage the Documentation Change Request (DCR) system, ensuring all changes are properly documented and implemented. Collaborate in the design and development of jigs and fixtures to support the Inspection Department and Production floor personnel. Review customer documentation to verify accuracy and completeness of information. Translate customer specifications into detailed shop drawings and specifications as needed. Create additional drawings for shop floor use, facilitating component fabrication. Assist in the analytical design and development of new products, providing technical insights as required. Prepare, document, and implement design changes in accordance with company procedures. Develop and/or review Traveler documents outlining operation sequences for each order. Compile comprehensive work order packages for issuance to the shop floor, ensuring all necessary information is included.
