Location Description: The Post Consumer Brands plant in Asheboro, NC is the newest addition to the company's network, featuring some of the most modern cereal production technology in the industry and the facility has quadrupled in size since it opened in 2007. Asheboro's 230+ team members produce some of our newest and most innovative cereals, like Oreo O's cereal! While there is plenty to do right in Asheboro, the town is only a few hours from the Atlantic Ocean in one direction and the Blue Ridge Mountains in the other direction. Owns and drives long-range packaging equipment and operational performance improvement plans. Technical owner of packaging operating parameters, centerline processes, and packaging equipment design & layout. Responsibilities: Provide daily support to sustain current operational performance targets for safety, quality, yield, rate, and efficiency. Leads efforts to improve current processes to achieve planned goals and targets. Identifies and recommends new and innovative equipment technologies that support process improvements and projects. Develop capital funding requests, manage capital project budgets, and implement capital projects. Best Practice Implementation. Improvement of Process. Application of new technology and equipment to improve process. Support R&D initiatives related to packaging materials and finished products. Investigate and determine production feasibility. Identifies tools, equipment, and methods to produce new products and support new product start-ups and integration. Support the commercialization of new products coordinating with internal and external resources. Support technical training for Operations Specialists (trainers). Qualifications: EDUCATION: 4-year degree in engineering. Mechanical engineering with design experience preferred. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in primary and secondary packaging operations encompassing vertical and horizontal form fill and seal machines, cartooning, case erectors, packers, and sealers, robotic operations, and all forms of package conveying. High-speed pouching and blending a plus. Experience in a food or consumer products environment preferred. Strong analytical skills. Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to solve highly complex problems and prioritize actions promptly. Tenacity in pursuit of results and a strong bias for action. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement methodologies. Ability to speak candidly and provide constructive feedback professionally. Ability to build strong and diverse relationships across functions and business units. Supports and fosters change. Experience in organizing and managing projects; interacts, supports, facilitates, and leads multi-functional work teams; leads teams to consensus; strong negotiation skills. Demonstrates a passion for safety. Able to develop and maintain a respectful and safe work environment. Ability to influence, mentor, and coach to get results through others. Brings out the best in people through leveraging their strengths.
