POSITION PURPOSE The Manager, Manufacturing Engineering Process & Technology - Americas, is responsible for the overall management of our critical core manufacturing competencies and processes to ensure process capacity and capability readiness for growth of our financial and operational results. This will entail managing a team of Process & Technology Manufacturing engineers and technical personnel to effectively integrate new processes, key changes, and the definitions of optimization into the manufacturing process.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Drive the Americas region to optimize Process & Technology launches into the Americas manufacturing plants and associated Supply Chain partners. Lead Americas manufacturing design guidance (DFMA) and process reviews (PFMEA) for new processes and technologies. Leader in developing and implementing plans and projects to ensure that manufacturing capacity and capability meets the needs of our business plans and growth strategies. Ensure the Americas manufacturing plants can assimilate Process & Technology into their Operating goals through positive impact to key performance measures. Responsible for Process related change management post-design. Define and measure adherence of optimal existing process definitions. Responsible for Manufacturing documentation associated with process standards, acceptable tolerances, performance data, and process related operating procedures. Manage and develop detailed plans and road maps working with Manufacturing and Design teams, including recommendations and solutions for the optimal development and deployment of process, for the purpose of incorporating major process changes into annual operating plans for action. Key partner with Operations and the manufacturing plants on shared initiatives and goals that drive improved manufacturing performance through growth and key performance measures. Strong Dotted Line reporting to the Plant Manufacturing Engineering teams Champion the Regional Core competencies and process definition/control framework and other optimization practices to drive high Operational Excellence results. Partner with other Global and Regional manufacturing engineering functions to drive harmonization and standardization. Ensure KPIs are aligned with business goals and support the setting of aggressive targets KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a relevant field required. A minimum of 12 years of experience in hard goods manufacturing in operations, manufacturing or industrial project management, capital management and/or continuous improvement roles. In depth knowledge of Process management and design, manufacturing systems, and metal fabrication/assembly intensive equipment and processes. Demonstrated experience in effective change management. Experience building plans for hiring, training, and developing business operations professionals and/or teams, especially in the area of automation, controls, and other digital technologies. Capability to relentlessly drive to overachieve and making the most of the resources available, a team player who can roll-up his/her sleeves to get the job done. Strong Internal/External customer focus orientation to drive the successful achievement of targeted business results. Willing to shift between strategic work and executing tactically to deliver results. Ability to influence, negotiate, and build consensus in order to make key decisions. Courage to have difficult discussions with groups from all levels of the organization.
