Job Description:

The Manager, Corporate Communications will be responsible for helping define and implement our overall marketing and communications strategy and execution. The primary objectives of this position are to build brand awareness and visibility across identified constituencies, such as employees, customers, investors and other stakeholders through internal and external communications, customer outreach, and special events.

This will be a highly visible role within the organization that has direct interaction with company leadership and stakeholders across all areas of Ventas. This position reports directly to the Vice President, Marketing & Corporate Communications.

Critical Skillset
Exceptional written and verbal techniques to create compelling, relevant and timely content to collateral and online content with a proven talent for storytelling and shaping perception.
Fosters effective and collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization. Develops and maintains relationships with key partners across the Company, especially with those departments and individuals that the Communications team partners including IR, HR, Legal, and PR/marketing agencies.
Competency/experience to generate creative concepts for visual/multimedia deliverables.
Serves as a leading communication strategist for the program(s) supported. Directs the completion of, or creates program communications, speeches, and presentations for a wide variety of audiences
Strong sense of initiative and ability to work under pressure on multiple projects with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Operates with a sense of purpose and urgency to meet the demands of multiple customers.
Self-starter who is able to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively and consistently execute with excellence.
Responsibilities:

Internal Communications

Establish and scale an internal communications strategy that cascades executive messages and is aligned with business goals and company culture. Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders.
Partner with the leadership and functional teams to develop effective employee messaging with a focus on maintaining the consistency, style and tone of internal communications while conveying a clear connection to our mission and values.
Create modern, compelling content across multiple channels including video, print, newsletter, company intranet/portal, quarterly meetings.
Write and edit materials, including organizational announcements, intranet articles, executive speeches, talking points, and company presentations.
Plan and execute quarterly town hall meetings including managing agendas, event flow, content development, and in-person and webcast event logistics. Develop a long-term strategy to modernize, grow engagement and improve employee perception of quarterly town hall meetings.
Coordinate the development and production of employee communications including emails, onboarding materials, recruiting tools and employee benefits guide.
Employee Portal Management

Govern, manage and write news content for Ventas Connect, the Company's online employee portal. Curate content for homepage. Develop Spotlight features.
Report site function issues, and serve as a primary member of the ongoing IT governance team to explore greater productivity. Advocate for the use of new technologies associated with our Office365 platform.
Write for and assist in editorial planning in creating content, research internal and external sources and interview subject matter experts.
Assist with editing posts from Ventas content managers and authors, and work with creative team on developing graphics and multimedia content to enhance the site.
Approve content for homepage promotion and take initiative to maintain specific employee resources on the site, (including the brand insights page, diversity and inclusion page, networks and others).
Website Content Management

Maintain a cohesive design for the company's website and increase its online marketing presence
Responsibility for publishing content, maintaining continuity of themes, designing layout, and increasing online presence to potential customers.
Ensure that the content of a website is well-structured and easy to find and that it meets the needs of its users by covering all necessary topics and being up to date and accurate.
Coordinates with stakeholders to ensure that the site provides content and functionality that meet the business needs of the organization.
Conduct content audits to identify gaps and redundancies in the site content
Develop creative, clear written and visual material for the organization's websites in support of the organization's marketing programs in accordance with the established editorial and style guidelines.
Analyse analytics data to learn how users interact with your site
Agency & Vendor Management

Monitors quality of work and provides ongoing feedback and counsel in ownership areas to agency partners to help them meet objectives, deliver the best work.
Monitors and guides agency spend against established budgets to ensure effective resource management.
VTR Foundation

Supervise administrative and compliance functions for Ventas Charitable Foundation.
Manage the institutional processes for establishing submission priorities, approvals and fund distribution for Marquee sponsorships and civic and community engagement donations.
Manage the solicitation, approval and distribution for the Employee Charitable Fund.
Provide input on Foundation alignment with Company strategy and marketing.
Manage Fiscal Oversight: Monitor grants, budgets and grantee expenditures, as well as organizational budgets, as appropriate; recommend for approval any deviations from approved plans and budgets, and ensure that such changes are documented.
Help set guidelines for grant making strategies, including the establishment of consistent metrics.
Proactively communicate impact and promote external visibility: Prepare materials for internal and external use that tell a compelling story of the impact of the community development portfolio and elevate grantees.
Optimize value from goods and services provided by Foundation spend (advertisements, tables, branding etc.)
Event Planning

Event planning, design and production within time limits for all internal and external events (including but not limited to: Annual Meeting; Ventas Connect Live; Investor Day; Employee Volunteer activities; Employee Network events; Sponsorship events (NIC, ASHA, Executives Club); Industry conferences
Working with clients to identify their needs and ensure customer satisfaction.
Researches, evaluates and organizes facilities and logistics details such as decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material etc.
Manages budgets and cost tracking
Sponsorship Management

Optimizes corporate sponsorships to gain maximum advantage for spend including but not limited to advertising, branding filling tables for events, payment of annual fees.
Proactively communicate impact and promote external visibility: Prepare materials for internal and external use that tell a compelling story of the impact of Ventas events (as appropriate)
Ventas Gifting

Sources, Creative, and Distribution for key Ventas activities.

Requirements

Candidate should possess 8+ years of public company experience in communications and a strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.

Candidate will be able to craft messages that set the right tone and consistency for various communication vehicles, and handle highly confidential/sensitive information with discretion. Candidate should be a team player with the skills to gather input from various sources to create deliverables.

Interested candidate should have a BA/BS Degree in Marketing/Communications/Public Relations or related field. REIT/banking/ healthcare/senior housing/financial services experience preferred. Candidate must possess reasonable familiarity with financial matters.
