Manager, Static Application Security Testing (SAST) Lead Cyber Security is an integral part of the corporate culture at Capital One. You'll work within Cyber Security Testing Service's Engineering team, focused on building and deploying platforms and services used to provide Cyber Security capabilities at Capital One. In addition, you will represent Cyber and assist other engineering teams in adhering to secure design principles. The role of a Cyber Engineer demands technical expertise and experience. Supporting initiatives such as Cloud and Big Data; the successful candidate will deliver security solutions, using their security skills, while also displaying a flexible agile approach by embracing emerging technologies, all while working together in a robust technical ecosystem.
The position will directly support internal customers on a code scanning application managing a support queue, responding to escalations, analyzing data and improving the support process and overall health of the application. The position will directly review security findings from SAST and SCA scanners, as well as work to improve the results generated by those scanners through rules tuning and scan configuration updates . The position will work collaboratively with resources from teams across the technology organization to achieve shared objectives and has the opportunity to manage a team of resources performing similar duties.
Responsibilities:
Manage customer support involving deep research into the software scanning applications
Respond and assist with customer escalations involving findings within their application
Research, document and improve Cyber Security's scanner and associated rules
Conduct research and data analysis into SCA and SAST findings or metrics
Manage and improve false positives or false negatives impacting the security posture of the company
Monitor the overall health of the platform or system and be able to troubleshoot, triage, and respond as needed.
Manage a team of reviewers or developers in performing and improving processes related to improving the quality of SAST and SCA findings
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
At least 6 years of experience in cyber security or information technology
At least 5 years of experience in software engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree
4+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Scala, Python, Go, Javascript/TypeScript, Angular/React.js, or Node.js
4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
4+ years of experience using SCA and SAST scanners and reviewing results
2+ years of experience managing teams
2+ years of experience in Agile practices
1+ year of experience working with big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Presto)
1+ year of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $201,400 - $229,900 for Manager, Cyber Technical Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
