We are looking to add great people for our maintenance team! You'll be joining our brand-new turkey custom-hatching company: Headstart Hatching. Why "Headstart"? Because we will be the first turkey hatchery in the world to hatch commercial poults with immediate access to feed and water from the moment the hatchling leaves the egg and throughout their stay from hatch to the farm. This is industry-changing technology will eventually be shared with the world, but first we're going to put it to good use for our region's benefit.

Over the next 7-11 months, you'll have the exciting responsibility of helping to construct and install our state-of-the-art building and equipment – learning each piece of equipment (literally) from the ground up. Once built and equipped, your role will transition to serve as a vigilant member of our 24/7 maintenance staff. Don't worry, you won't be doing it all alone. We have opportunities for both entry-level and highly-experienced maintenance experts to contribute to. Together, you'll help keep our hatchery running like a well-oiled machine (pun intended).
Our hatchery features all sorts of cool technology, including HatchCare egg-hatching systems, Viscon stacking and de-stacking automation, and enough conveyors to make you feel like you're in the middle of a high-speed turkey race. But wait, there's more! Our automated box washing and vacuum waste systems will rely on you to keep them humming and our state-of-the-art HVAC and water systems will filter every breath and sip, providing optimum air and water quality; we know you like to keep things clean.
A boiler license, construction background and/or comfort working with complex electrical components will be advantageous for your success in this role. If you don't have the experience but are hungry to learn, we can help you build your skillset and support you toward earning certifications and further your formal expertise. If you happen to be bilingual in Spanish and English, even better!
In the future, there will also be opportunities for experienced maintenance teammates with the gift of gab (and patient teaching) to provide remote technical service to other turkey hatcheries around the world who install the equipment we are showcasing. Mechanical teams around the world will seek your expertise; you'll get to put your tech skills to the test and help other hatcheries succeed, all while wearing a fancy augmented reality headset that your kids will want you to bring home with you.
