Maintenance Supervisor

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Superintendent in this full-time role, the successful candidate will lead a 3rd Shift maintenance crew of Millwrights, Electricians, Welders, and Contractors. Higher consideration will be granted to those who have previous experience in the wood remanufacturing sector in a Sawmill, Planer Mill, or forest products. #LI-DL1
Here's What You'll Do: Achieving Maintenance goals with the highest regard for employee safety; Capable of supporting troubleshooting & observations of machine centers with shift supervisors and other maintenance staff to ensure production and quality standards are met; Managing the department cost in an aggressive manner assuring optimum manufacturing unit cost; develop, and educate key metrics. Maintenance Planning, planning non-emergency maintenance, coordinating PM routes; Effectively communicating goals and/or instructions; Managing conflicts Supervising Weekend Maintenance and Cleanup personnel Maintenance of sawmill equipment (this includes but is not limited to De-Barkers, Gang Edgers, Trimmer, Sorter, Stacker, Conveyors, Chippers, Blowers, Hydraulic Systems, and Pneumatic Systems) Safety of the crew (Lock-Out Procedures, Field Level Hazard & Risk Assessments (FLHRA), Safety Audits) Training/mentoring apprentices Creating and planning improvement projects Managing parts with our purchaser Scheduling and attendance Will include periodic weekend coverage Inspecting completed work #LI-DL1
Here's What You'll Need: Prior Journeyman Electrician or Millwright Proficient in Microsoft Office Well organized Minimum of five years (plus) of industrial experience Leadership and communication skills Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screen and background #LI-DL1
