The machine operator is responsible for operating various machines within the machine shop, such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses to produce precision parts according to specifications. Key Responsibilities Adhere to safety procedures and regulations at all times. Perform machining operations, such as turning, milling, drilling, and tapping. Interpret engineering drawings, and blueprints. Monitoring machine operation to ensure parts are produced to the required specifications and quality standards. Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience working in a machine shop or manufacturing environment preferred. Experience using precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges preferred. Capable of interacting in both a team environment and solo workspace. Strong attention to detail and quality. Work Schedules: Standard 40-hour work week with typical schedule of Monday – Thursday 4p – 3:00a. Overtime to meet production deadlines, as needed.
