Position Overview: To ensure the safety of all swimmers and the enforcement of all pool rules and regulations.Essential Functions:Monitor recreational areas to provide assistance and protection to participants.Provide courteous and prompt service to each guest.Understand and enforce pool rules and regulations.Coordinate emergency procedures and provide first aid in an emergencyBenefitsCompetitive PayHotel Room DiscountsJob Responsibilities:Understand pool equipment.Work to prevent accidents.Document all incident that occurred while on duty.Report hazards to supervisor immediately.Open and close pool at the posted times.Clear pool at closing time.Clean up pool deck area after closing.Other duties as assigned.Qualification Standards:The individual must possess the job knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job. This being with or without reasonable accommodation, using a combination of knowledge, skills and abilities.Prior lifeguarding experience preferred.Licenses or Certificates: State requirements for lifeguard required; CPR and first aid required.Specific job knowledge, skills and abilities:Project a neat, clean and professional appearance.Be articulate and able to communicate effectively to staff and guests including children, verbally and in writing.Be committed to the highest standards of hospitality and express a sincere interest in the needs and comfort of guests.Ability to remain calm in a stressful situation.Ability to take control of an emergency situation.Be dependable, flexible and possess an even temperament. Physical Requirements:Most work performed outdoors.
