SOME (So Others Might Eat) is seeking a Lead Service Technician for the Facilities Management program.
Position Description:The Lead Service Technician maintains the physical condition and operations of SOME facilities. Responds to work orders and provides daily maintenance and repair to include electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or carpentry.
Hours: Tuesday-Saturday--10:30 am- 7:00 pm
Qualifications: Required: HS Degree/GED; 3-5 yrs. Facilities Management experience in multi-site housing or residential facilities. Travel to work sites using your own transportation.
Preferred: High School degree/GED; 5+ years of Facilities Management experience in multi-site housing or residential facilities; previous experience in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or carpentry; previous supervisor experience.
Required License/Certification: Must possess and maintain a vehicle and valid driver's license, as well as personal car liability insurance coverage. This is a contingency of employment. The vehicle should be safe and reliable. (Mileage will be reimbursed)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED: Understanding of electrical issues, preventive maintenance, fire systems, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance and repairTime management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasksProfessional communication skills to communicate verballyKnowledge of safety practices related to maintenance activities and corresponding equipment and chemicalsAbility to take initiativeAbility to use common power tools, hand tools, and maintenance equipmentBasic computer skills to complete invoicing, respond to emails, and complete work order documentationCustomer service skillsOrganizational skills with attention to detailProblem-solving and decision-making skillsAbility to troubleshoot and understand plumbing issues, preventative maintenance, and general maintenance & repairEnvironmental Working Conditions: This position works in office, residential, and outdoor environments. Required to work in hot and cold outdoor environments. May be exposed to dust, odors, and noise. The working environment may or may not include individual heating and air conditioning and may or may not include a window.
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. This position may be active and requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders. Work may be performed outside on facility grounds in heat or cold. Travel to work sites using your own transportation methods. Utilize your own tools for work projects and transport tools to the work site.
