Durango School District 9-R is accepting applications for Lead Facilities Maintenance Engineer. Job Title: Lead Maintenance Engineer Pay Grade: ESP Salary Schedule Job Family: Facilities FLSA Status: Non- Exempt Department: Facilities Prepared Date: May 3, 2024 Typical Work Year: 12 months SUMMARY Assist the Supervisor of Facilities with coordinating, directing,and leading the building maintenance personnel within assigned buildings. Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and District rules and regulations. Work with the building principal or his/her designee to coordinate building maintenance needs. Assist with coordinating maintenance duties including preventative maintenance program, work order turnaround and completion, project coordination and oversight, and inventory management. Follow up and address deficiencies noted in assigned buildings.
Review and manage incoming maintenance requests submitted through the work order system.
Address work orders at the building level that require minor maintenance. Follow up on all work orders to ensure satisfactory completion of work, and proper closure of the work order.
Inspect buildings and grounds for appearance, vandalism, cleanliness, safety, and maintenance.
Analyze and rectify minor mechanical and electrical malfunctions. Perform preventative and minor maintenance. Initiate work orders to the Facilities Department to address issues that require specialty skills or additional support.
Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and assigning maintenance personnel. Maintain records, reports, time sheets, and maintenance logs. Evaluate the maintenance staff assigned to the building.
Serve as a member of the Building Safety Team. Work with the Principal and Director of Safety/Security and Risk Management to implement risk management as it pertains to building maintenance.
Conduct and document monthly safety walks.
Monitor and assist with managing assigned maintenance budgets for supplies and equipment, including ordering, inventory, and procurement. Ensure proper storage of all supplies.
Maintain knowledge and train staff in the location and operation of emergency controls
Supervise and perform snow removal at assigned buildings as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND TRAINING High school diploma or equivalent. EXPERIENCE: Experience in the maintenance field preferred. Previous lead experience preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: Valid Colorado driver's license. Safety and asbestos training required within 3 months after entering position. Criminal Background Check required for hire.
