Facilities Management provides oversight of university resources and assets and is responsible for the development of the University's facilities including land use planning, capital improvement, project development, construction, as well as facilities operations and maintenance including custodial services, landscape services, building trade services, mechanical and electrical, and recycling services. We seek an exceptional individual to join our Landscape Services team as the Landscape Analyst (Administrative Analyst/Specialist Exempt I). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.Under the supervision of the Landscape Services Manager or their designee, the Landscape Analyst position is responsible for on and off-campus coordination of landscaping services, including all landscape work, projects, and contracted work. This position will independently develop and initiate processes for documentation, reporting, scheduling annual maintenance, tracking beautification efforts, etc., and continually identifying opportunities for improvement in efficiency. The Landscape Analyst will work on administrative projects that support the Landscape Services unit, including budget proposals and presentations. This position will also provide work direction to the unit staff for day-to-day operations and works directly with vendors to assign, schedule, and evaluate work. Assists the manager to inspect completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements compliance with documents, and applicable landscape safety codes and regulations. The Landscape Analyst serves as the primary contact for the Landscape Services department within Facilities Operations and is responsible for coordinating relationships with customers, staff, vendors, and other entities. Provides the high-level leadership required in confidential and sensitive situations.This is a key position which cares for the University grounds to support the University's mission, vision, and values in higher education. Interacts well with a diverse group of individuals, works well in a team environment, understands the balance of sharing duties, taking ownership, and will take the initiative to complete tasks as needed. Other duties as assigned.Essential QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs plus two years of related experience. Working knowledge of and the ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the program or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations. Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program or administrative specialty. Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Ability to take initiative and plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Skilled in research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs. Ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Expertise investigating and analyzing problems with broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively. Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form. Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction.A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.Preferred QualificationsBroad knowledge of Landscape Services methods and techniques. Experience supervising a wide variety of staff involved in Landscape Services. Experience using a computerized facilities management program.
