Wohali, an emerging real estate development and exclusive luxury community, is rapidly expanding during its startup phase. With our in-house construction team already in place and the upcoming launch of resort services, we're seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as a pivotal business partner to the Managing Partners and General Manager. As the CFO, this individual will hold a crucial position in Wohali's financial management and strategy. They will actively shape our day-to-day operations, contributing to financial analysis, strategic planning, and overall growth. We're seeking a seasoned strategist who not only comprehends current accounting standards and industry trends but also possesses a track record of capital acquisition and adeptness in navigating change, whether it involves expansion or streamlining.
Functioning within senior management, the CFO will will need to demonstrate strong and articulate communication skills. Collaboration with leadership, managers, and team members is paramount, fostering an environment conducive to growth, continuous development, consistency, and superior service delivery.
Given our startup status and rapid growth trajectory, we emphasize the CFO's physical presence on-site. This role is instrumental in shaping our company culture, nurturing talent, and fostering community engagement. Roles and Responsibilities: Financial Planning and Analysis
Develop and oversee financial plans and strategies aligned with Wohali's goals. Conduct thorough analysis of financial data, predict upcoming trends, and offer valuable insights to facilitate well-informed decision-making. Financial Management
Oversee all aspects of Wohali's financial functions including managing budgets and cash flow, optimize capital structure and ensure the effective utilization of financial resources to enhance profitability and drive growth Identify and manage financial risks that could impact Wohali's stability and reputation Devise risk mitigation strategies, implement internal control systems Ensure the strict adherence to regulatory guidelines and reporting standards Risk Management and Compliance
Investor Relations and Capital Allocation
Engage with investors and stakeholders, present financial performance, growth opportunities and strategies Oversee capital allocation decisions balancing the need for investment in innovation, expansion and return on investment for shareholders Strategic Decision-making
Contributes to major decisions by evaluating financial implications and providing insights into potential risks and rewards Participate in strategic planning session and capital investment decisions Skills and Qualification: Financial Expertise: A strong understanding of finance, accounting principles, and financial analysis is essential. This includes proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning. Strategic Planning: CFO possesses the ability to develop long-term financial strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives and must also be able to adapt these strategies to changing market conditions. Leadership: Strong leadership skills are crucial for the role to effectively manage finance teams and collaborate with other departments within the organization. This includes the ability to inspire and motivate team members, as well as to provide clear direction and guidance. Ability to collaborate with individuals critical to the successful execution of financial tasks. Communication Skills: The ideal candidate needs excellent communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly and effectively to stakeholders, including board members, investors, and senior management. Must listen actively and encourage input from others. Provide clear direction. Maintain ongoing dialogue with employees to ensure continuous progress. Analytical Skills: The candidate must be highly analytical, with the ability to interpret financial data and trends to make informed decisions. They should also possess problem-solving skills to address financial challenges and optimize performance. Risk Management: The ideal candidate is responsible for assessing and managing financial risks facing the organization. This includes identifying potential risks, developing risk mitigation strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Business Acumen: The CFO has a strong understanding of the broader business environment in which the organization operates. This includes knowledge of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and market opportunities. Ethical Standards: The CFO must uphold the highest ethical standards, personal and professional integrity, earning respect and support when making difficult decisions and choice. Able to establish immediate credibility with peers, senior leadership and extended team members. This includes ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as promoting transparency and accountability. Experience: The role requires at least 15 years of prior experience in finance or accounting, with previous experience in senior financial management positions such as Controller or Director of Finance. Education: A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field; MBA in Finance or CPA certification highly preferred.
