Job Title: IT Support Consultant University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics department of Technology and Media Services (TaMS) is seeking an IT Support Consultant. Under the general direction of the IT Director, the Clinical Applications Support Consultant is a member of a team providing support for both clinical hardware and software to the University of Iowa Dental school. The position works closely with their team analyzing clinical needs and designing solutions using new or existing clinical software applications; this role participates in ensuring standardized function, interoperability, data integrity and security for various clinical software applications.
Responsibilities: Provide operational support for AxiUm/MiPacs and a wide range of diverse clinical information environments.
Performs configuration and installation of organization-wide clinical IT solutions. Assists with the integration of key systems and platforms. Ensures system backup strategies are developed. Ensure correctness of software and hardware configurations.
Assist with training students, faculty and staff on basic workflows as needed.
Help write and maintain documentation on software configuration, processes, policies.
Assist with the implementation of approved projects and services within a functional area.
Provides a high level of customer services to key individuals across all levels of the organization. Regularly interacts with doctors and other clinical staff. Participates in project and support calls with vendors.
The Technology and Media services department provides and supports clinical, and related systems and technology that facilitate quality patient care, progressive medical education, and innovative research.
TaMS services University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental clinics by providing comprehensive, high-level support for patient care delivery, internal and external communication, technology innovation, dental education, and research. Creating and maintaining a positive, productive, and rewarding environment for information technology and communication staff.
Salary: $57, 314 to commensurate
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
May require work outside of establish business hours.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or equivalent field, or an equivalent combination education and work experience Experience installing software, supporting, and training users, maintaining software applications, including managing user accounts, and ensuring data security. Ability to learn and adapt quickly on the job, work independently in local and remote locations and to prioritize multiple tasks. Skill in providing computer system and application security using best practice concepts and techniques. Excellent communication and customer service skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and accurately, both orally and in writing, with technical and non-technical staff. Desirable : Experience working in a dental, or health industry environment. Experience working with confidentiality requirements as set by HIPPA, FERPA, federal, state, and local regulations. Experience working with and troubleshooting axiUm and/or Mipacs. Experience with digital radiograph sensor hardware.
