***Hybrid in Reston, VA. Tuesdays and Wednesdays required onsite. 1 year long assignment. Position Summary As an IT Security Specialist for the North America Biometrics Programs team in Reston, Virginia, you will support and implement information assurance and security engineering systems with requirements of business continuity, operations security, and regulatory compliance.  You will assess and mitigate system security threats and risks throughout the project life cycle, validating system security requirements definition and analysis.  You will also verify security requirements, and perform system certification and accreditation planning and testing and liaison activities with the Prime contractor. 
Must be able to transfer or obtain and maintain a public trust clearance for the Department of Homeland Security. Essential Functions / Key Areas of Responsibility Review and dissect security scan results and coordinate responses to the Government with appropriate data center personnel Perform, prepare, and ensure that the IT environment meets security audit requirements as defined Manage mitigation and remediation of security vulnerabilities Provide support to security incidents and coordinate with technical staff Schedule meetings to plan mitigation strategies Assist in system enhancements/bug fixes tied to security Create patching schedules and coordinate resource allocation Review Information Security Vulnerability Management (ISVM) to determine which apply to the environment Provide security reports to the Prime contractor or Government Develop and maintain reporting on information security strategy, policies, and procedures Special Position Requirements þ Schedule:   This position requires coverage during normal business hours, Monday through Friday.  Occasional after-hours support to assist with system events that may affect end-user stakeholders.  This position is subject to standard pre-employment background check This position is subject to post-hire third party background checks with state agencies This position is subject to requirements of CFIUS and will require U.S. Citizenship U.S. CITIZEN and able to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in order to access DHS production systems and PII data. Minimum Requirements: Skills, Experience, Education, Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Certifications, Language Minimum eight (8) years' experience in Information Assurance, Information Systems Security, and/or Cyber Security Experience in information security vulnerabilities and remediation Experience with AIX, Suse, and Windows Operating Systems Experience using diagnostic tools Understanding of firewalls, proxies, security information, event management antivirus, and intrusion detection and prevention system concepts. Strong communicator at all levels of an organization Team oriented, but can work independently with minimal supervision Preferred Qualifications IT Certification (e.g., Network+, Security+, CISSP) Suse Linux and/or AIX Administrator Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering; Computer Software Engineering or other Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics related disciplines OR 12 years' experience in Information Assurance, Information Systems Security, and/or Cyber Security This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position: $60-70/Hr
