Description
General Responsibility: 
The Information Technology Intern will assist the IT department in providing technical support and maintenance for the organization's computers, printers, networks, and servers. The intern will also participate in various IT projects and tasks, such as desktop imaging, backup monitoring, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and creating system and procedural documentation. The intern will work under the supervision of the IT Infrastructure & Security Manager and collaborate with other IT staff and users.
Provide PC and printer support, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of hardware and software.Perform desktop imaging and deployment using standard tools and procedures.Assist in basic network configuration and troubleshooting, such as setting up IP addresses, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPN.Support server administration, such as creating and managing user accounts, groups, permissions, and policies.Monitor backup systems and ensure that backups are completed and verified.Apply patches and updates to operating systems and applications and perform vulnerability scans.Create and update system and procedural documentation, such as manuals, guides, diagrams, and checklists.Follow IT policies and best practices and report any issues or incidents to the IT Infrastructure & Security Manager.Learn new skills and technologies and participate in training and development opportunities.Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.Basic knowledge and experience with Windows and Linux operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, and common IT tools and software.Basic knowledge and experience with PC and printer hardware, networking devices and protocols, and server administration.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in a timely and professional manner.Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with IT staff and users.Ability to work independently and as part of a team and manage multiple tasks and priorities.Ability to follow instructions and adhere to IT standards and policies.Ability to learn new skills and technologies quickly and adapt to changing IT needs and demands.Other key task performed, and personnel designated to perform the task.
