SUMMARY
We're seeking a skilled and experienced database administrator to join our IT Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our database. The DBA will ensure that our database operate efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of our organization.
RESPONSIBILITIESInstall, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQLMonitor and optimize database performance, including tuning queries, optimizing data storage, and implementing best practicesEnsure data integrity and security through regular backups, disaster recovery planning, and access controlsTroubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, such as connectivity problems, performance bottlenecks, and data corruptionPerform database upgrades, patches, and migrations as requiredDevelop and implement database policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practicesCollaborate with developers, system administrators, and other IT staff to support database-related projects and initiativesProvide technical support and training to end-users as neededStay current with emerging technologies and trends in database administrationQUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related fieldProven experience as a Database Administrator, preferably in a similar role or industryProficiency in database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQLStrong understanding of database architecture, design, and administration principlesExperience with database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshootingKnowledge of data backup and recovery procedures, disaster recovery planning, and security best practicesExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environmentRelevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) are a plus
