Zap Energy is a fast-growing company that is developing a novel technology that will make fusion energy a reality. We are looking for an Instrumentation Technician who has experience with instrumentation of systems, including tubing and low voltage systems.  This technician will have a hands-on role in the execution of facilities and construction projects that support the infrastructure and engineering of fusion plasma devices. Responsibilities and Duties: Tubing installations Selects type and size of tubing and fittings according to job specification. Installs new, modifies, or repairs existing tubing installations. Educates colleagues on best design practices for tubing systems. Installs both gas and pneumatic valves, solenoids, and instrument systems. Connects all piping and tubing to equipment. QA/QC Build or use existing inspection and testing forms for assurance of instrument/gas system installations. Inspects, tests, and commissions all tubing installed. Low voltage systems Low voltage cable installation. Camera (general and specialized) installation and cabling Wire harness fabrication and dressing. Cable connector assembly (from DB9 to Molex and everything in between). Fiber optic communication cables installation and terminations Installation of electrical enclosures and general electronics systems. General assembly work Strut channel structures using the full range of strut channel fittings. Including particularly fiberglass strut channel, fittings, angle, and nuts and bolts. Medium voltage coax cable installation and makeup per work instructions provided by specifying group. Instrumentation calibration, inspection, testing, and commissioning. PLC systems interfacing for inspection, testing, and troubleshooting. General support tasks for the facilities and construction team that are outside of the above-outlined responsibilities. Qualifications and Skills: Required: Ability to interpret and create P&IDs and schematic diagrams. 7+ years of experience performing tubing installations. 3+ years of experience working on low voltage control systems. Strong client-facing and teamwork skills Ability to think proactively and manage multiple priorities. Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions and changing tasks and priorities. Ability to scope, plan, and execute tasks. Highly self-motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently and prioritize workload, but also work collaboratively and effectively with other team members. Highly resourceful where being tasked with executing outside of current toolset is not a deterrent to activity completion. Familiar with Swagelok tubing fitting systems and other common tubing systems. Be capable of transporting articles up to 50 pounds. Preferred: Associate or Technical Degree or Apprenticeship Program. Washington State 06 electrical license. 2+ years' experience in electrical construction. Forklift and/or telehandler experience. Experience rigging and moving objects heavier than can be manually lifted. The estimated pay range for this position is $30-45 per hour. Candidates may be considered for other positions at Zap Energy and actual salary will be based on relevant education, experience, and other qualifications.  Range is published in accordance with Washington Equal Pay and Opportunity Act.
