The Industrial Engineering Intern will apply lean manufacturing concepts and work measurement methods to improve material flow and productivity.As an Industrial Engineering Intern you will:Perform work measurement studies in manufacturing cell(s) to quantify capacity and establish labor standards.Work closely with manufacturing engineering, value stream leaders, and operators to identify and implement opportunities to reduce changeover times in machining.Develop current and future state value stream maps to uncover opportunities for improvement.Projects may include: Manufacturing (Assembly, Chemical Mixing, and Machining), focus on equipment, process, quality, and new model activities related to the department. Project management, problem analysis, production support, investigating new technologies and implementing countermeasures.QualificationsRequired Education, Experience & Skills:Undergraduate student, preferably in their Senior year, pursuing a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or similar field of studyCumulative GPA of 3.0 or higherCompletion of Work Measurement or similar courseworkStrong interpersonal skills and willingness to collaborate with production team.Proficient with MS Office especially MS ExcelWillingness to learn and apply industrial engineering skills to improve manufacturing operations.Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.This job description reflects 1 opening for the Summer 2024 Internship Session (May - August).
