The Department of Pathology at the Yale School of Medicine is seeking a renowned, academically oriented, and board-certified pathologist to be appointed as the Inaugural Endowed Louis J. M. Zinterhofer, M.D. Professor in Diagnostic Pathology. Appointment and salary will depend upon level of expertise and accomplishments. A track record of clinical excellence in diagnostic pathology, scholarship, and mentoring junior faculty and trainees is required. Candidates must be board certified in anatomic pathology and be eligible to practice medicine in the state of Connecticut; subspecialty expertise with national or international recognition is preferred.  The successful candidate will be appointed as full professor at Yale University, and will participate in the service responsibilities of diagnostic practice; contribute to medical student, resident, and fellow teaching; and develop an academic program. The Department will provide resources to support the program development.
The Department serves Yale New Haven Hospital and Bridgeport Hospital, major teaching and referral centers in southern Connecticut. The Department has a robust outreach program providing consultative services.
