Spanning West Texas through Southeast New Mexico, ConocoPhillips holds approximately 709,000 total net acres in the Delaware Basin, which includes approximately 699,000 unconventional net acres. ConocoPhillips began exploring and appraising the basin's stacked pay potential in 2012 and has gained extensive technical expertise to optimize development. Entering 2023, the company now operates over 2,800 wells throughout the Basin.
In 2022, the company operated an average of 10 drilling rigs, including one electric rig, and 153 new operated wells were brought online. Net production in 2022 averaged 321 MBOED. Description
The IC&E Project Specialist will work with the Project Lead to provide project pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup support for Permian projects which can include tank batteries, central production facilities, wellsite facilities, saltwater disposal sites, and larger infrastructure projects. This support will be consistent with Company engineering standards, state and local requirements, and applicable industry codes.
This is a Safety Sensitive position. Responsibilities may include: Participation in pre-construction meetings, C&E reviews, PHA (Process Hazard Analysis) Reviews, CRR's (Construction Readiness Reviews), and Look Backs(post-construction) As required, assisting in redlining/updating Cause & Effect diagrams, P&IDs, control cabinet layouts, wiring diagrams, conduit and cable schedules, electrical area classification details, instrumentation installation details, instrument indices, and other required automation deliverables As required, assisting with programming and configuration of end devices including ModBus and communication devices. Calibrating and commissioning transmitters, motor starters, and communications devices Validating, testing, inspection, and functional check out of facility controls and instrumentation systems with SCADA team and functional tests with Operations/First Delivery and startup of new facilities and upgrades Delegating tasks to I&E contractors on location As required, executing FATs on panel racks, motor starters, and PLCs Attending and completing Pre-Startup Safety Reviews Providing IC&E Lead of project progress and observed obstacles in a timely manner and communicating issues and scope creep to Project Lead, IC&E Engineer, and System Integrators Applying troubleshooting skills to resolve automation system issues with operating equipment Provide feedback and lessons learned to IC&E Project Lead and Engineering team Finalize IC&E documents; C&E's initialed line by line by SCADA team, Project Leads/Specialist and sent to stakeholders and archived in approved location Provide post-commissioning support for any issues that may arise and verify accuracy of alarms with SCADA team and proper routing of alarms Ensuring control system and electrical upgrades/modifications are in compliance with relevant industry and corporate standards Complete all assigned training in a timely manner Basic/Required: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer Current/Valid Driver's License 5+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry 3+ years of professional experience related to instrumentation, controls, electrical and/or electronics Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Word Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to work and travel in the field 75% of the time on an annual basis Preferred: Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or foreign equivalent 5+ years of experience in upstream oil and gas facility design, construction/installation, operation, and optimization of production facilities, compression, saltwater disposal, and other infrastructure Advanced level of knowledge of technical standards and guidelines (API, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, etc.) Intermediate level of knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC design and programming, both analog and discrete instrumentation, and various serial and Ethernet communications protocols Basic level of knowledge of proper material and equipment selection for process pressure ratings, and electrical area classification Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with management, technical, and field personnel Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what is right Delivers positive results through realistic planning to accomplish goals Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical Apply Before: May 9, 2024
