05/20/2024 Responsible for the day–to-day operation of the staff member leave programs; works with staff to ensure all appropriate medical paperwork and approvals by medical health care providers are completed and accurate; advises staff members about impacts of leave requests and qualifications for leaves; interprets staff member requests as they apply to policies, procedures, and guidelines for administering and approving of leaves in a timely manner, including decisions that impact staff leave, vacation leave, Sick Leave Bank, and pay; interacts with Payroll and other Human Resources staff to ensure leave deductions and pay are accurately calculated. Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards
Actively participates as a member of the district's enterprise system team to collaboratively work on human resource management functions and to ensure leave benefits, transactions, and payroll items are accurately administered in a fair and timely manner
Answers staff questions about leaves, options, and impacts to pay
Answers telephone and greets visitors, providing information and routing inquiries as appropriate
Assists in answering leave and eligibility questions to ensure compliance with district policies and procedures
Assists staff in resolution of pay and benefit matters
Attends professional meetings, seminars, and workshops
Composes, performs, and types routine and complex correspondence and reports as well as updates databases
Creates and maintains leave files, records, and databases and works closely with Human Resources staff and Payroll to ensure accuracy of staff leave deductions and pay
Ensures compliance with all applicable laws, policies, procedures, and practices
Explains end of pay options to licensed staff
Keeps the Director for Human Resources informed of all crucial changes and updates on leave issues
Maintains accurate records and reports
Maintains confidentiality of staff leave information
Maintains excellent customer service and assists in directing staff about leave options and procedures
Maintains excellent customer service to staff throughout the leave process
Maintains leave documents which include sensitive and confidential information
Manages the Sick Leave Bank (SLB) enrollment and ensures appropriate documentation is received for SLB use
Participates in the Human Resources SLB Review Committee to evaluate SLB requests
Performs a variety of record keeping functions, including database calculations within the department which impact pay and leave (e.g., staff leave, vacation leave, Sick Leave Bank, FMLA, full dock, etc.)
Prepares communications to staff for Human Resources administrator's approval of leave requests
Presents leave benefit overviews at regularly scheduled new hire orientation trainings
Processes medical leaves and calculates pay dockings and retirement payouts for licensed staff
Provides assistance to staff to ensure accurate use of their leave requests are in compliance with district policy and procedures
Provides back-up to other Human Resources staff (e.g., compensation, guest staff, classified hiring, etc.)
Recommends new office procedures and modifications to existing practices to ensure a smooth and effective operation
Resolves issues regarding docking of staff member pay when necessary working with other Human Resources and Payroll staff
Responds promptly to inquiries and ensures that appropriate action is taken
Reviews benefits determination under FMLA is in compliance with law, for administrator approval
Reviews Human Resources leave policies, procedures, guidelines, and staff members' requests for leave, and supports staff in completing appropriate forms from medical health care providers
Reviews staff leave eligibility and appropriately advises staff to support their leave requests
Stays current with applicable federal and state laws and compliance
Works on special projects and directly assists the Director for Human Resources and the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources as directed

Ability to create, access, input, and retrieve information in various software systems
Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, to individuals as well as district staff
Ability to establish and maintain accurate filing system and leave records

Required Qualifications:
Experience in Human Resources and Leave Administration, High school graduate -high school diploma or equivalent Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's (Baccalaureate) degree (e.g., B.A., A.B., B.S.) - Business Administration/Management, Bachelor's (Baccalaureate) degree (e.g., B.A., A.B., B.S.) - Human Resources Management, Bachelor's (Baccalaureate) degree (e.g., B.A., A.B., B.S.) - Public Administration, Equivalent combination of related education and experience may be considered Compensation Range:
