Job Summary
The HR Manager is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy. Responsibilities include developing recruiting, payroll, and benefit strategies, implementing and managing HRIS systems, training, and development.
Essential Responsibilities
Management of Human Resources organization
Oversee and manage the maintenance and overall administration of the HRIS system including application tracking, onboarding, performance management, and compensation policies.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws including industry regulations.
Direct HR team with all necessary compliance requirements and filings related to payroll, benefit tracking, drug testing, or other general HR compliance requirements.
Partner with executive team and managers to communicate the company's HR policies, procedures, and programs.
Work with managers to effectively communicate performance expectations.
Train managers in effective coaching and communication skills.
Advise managers on best practices and implications of HR issues related to discipline, grievances, and terminations.
Establish team member training systems that address company training needs to include needs assessments, new hire orientation, production cross-training and team member career development.
Maintain pay plan and benefits program.
Manage the recruitment and selection process.
Responsible for worker's compensation claims management

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Proficient in Microsoft Suite of programs.
Knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations.
Experience working with attorneys, COE's and senior leadership.
Working knowledge of HRIS software or capacity for quick learning.
Discretion to handle confidential and sensitive employee information.
Comfortable handling difficult conversations tactfully and professionally.
Education & Experience
Preferences/Requirements
Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree Degree Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
PHR, SPHR, SHRM – CP, Payroll Certification
Certifications Preferred: Years of Experience: 8 +
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field.
8+ years of HR experience required.
5+ years of supervisory experience in an HR role.
Experience in supporting multi-location business units.
Working Environment / Conditions
20% travel
Normal office environment.
