A HIV Testing Counselor contributes to AHF & SSHC by implementing HIV testing and counseling through Mobile Unit Testing, event testing (bars, clubs, festivals, health fairs etc) daily street outreach (train stations, hair salon, food pantries, bus stops,parks, beachfronts etc) and other non-traditional venues. You will utilize your experience as a HIV Test Counselor to work in diverse setting and with diverse groups of people within the African American community. Your knowledge about the issues impacting people of color living with HIV will support your efforts in coordinating linkage to medical care, treatment, referrals to resources and providers who are able to address our client's needs. You will ensure clients are educated about HIV and how to prevent disease transmission, understand the process of HIV testing and the importance of knowing their status and that they have timely access to comprehensive medical care and treatment.

Licenses/ Certifications: HIV Testing Certification highly preferred.
