This temporary, professional position is being advertised for 19.5 hours per week (weekday hours between 8 am – 5 pm). Additional hours may become available to cover staff leaves. Wage range of $17.83 - $20/hour depending upon education and experience.
The position responsibilities include:
Work with patients who range in age from toddlers to adults and engage in severe challenging behaviors including aggression, destruction, and self-injury. Implement assessment and treatment procedures with patients who engage in severe challenging behavior including aggression, destruction, and self-injury (with instruction and under direct supervision). Present task demands to patients who engage in severe challenging behavior including aggression, destruction, and self-injury (with instruction and under direct supervision). Present and withhold preferred materials from patients with severe challenging behavior including aggression, destruction, and self-injury (with instruction and under direct supervision). Provide and withhold vocal and physical interactions with patients who engage in severe challenging behavior including aggression, destruction, and self-injury (with instruction and under direct supervision). Complete quarterly safety training. Present vocal and visual cues to patients with severe challenging behavior including aggression, destruction, and self-injury (with instruction and under direct supervision). Use appropriate safety stances and procedures to prevent injury to the patient, self, and others during episodes of severe challenging behaviors including aggression, destruction, and self-injury (with instruction and under direct supervision). Code behavioral data using computer based and paper and pencil scoring systems. Enter data onto spreadsheets and create graphic displays of the results. Accompany patient during staffings and wrap-up with care providers. Provide back up support for staff working with patients. Set up and clean treatment room and materials. Assist with preparing work materials for evaluations. Assist with other paperwork as needed. Provide information regarding observations and insights for assessment and treatment plans. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent of education and experience. Experience using Excel. Willingness to work directly with patients who engage in aggression, self-injury, and destruction. Desirable Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 months experience working with people with severe challenging behavior is highly desirable. Experience working with people with severe problem behavior in a home, camp, classroom, or other residential setting. Familiarity with applied behavior analysis. Experience conducting assessments or treatments based on behavioral analysis. Experience using a real-time electronic data coding system. Contact
