Typical duties include, but are not limited to:
Developing comprehensive training programs to enhance student athlete skills, fitness, and teamwork. Planning and executing effective practice sessions focused on skill development, tactics, and game strategies. Providing constructive feedback to student athletes to facilitate their growth and improvement. Fostering a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and discipline. Providing guidance and mentorship to student-athletes, promoting academic success, sportsmanship, and personal growth. Collaborating with assistant coaches, athletic trainers, and other staff members to ensure the overall success of the basketball program. Communicating effectively with players, parents, school administration, and the community to build support for the team. Encouraging student participation in school sports. Performing additional coaching duties and/or other responsibilities as assigned. To Apply:

Physical Demands:
This position involves routine physical activity, with regular bending/reaching, pushing/pulling, stooping, and crouching.  Also requires intermittent sitting, standing, and walking in various settings.  Occasional running or brief strenuous activity may be required to demonstrate or aid in student training.  Work is typically performed in campus buildings and outdoors, where the employee is occasionally exposed to heat, cold, or inclement weather.  The employee carries light to medium weight objects, up to 50 pounds.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Three (3) or more years' experience coaching basketball at the high school level or above preferred. Strong knowledge of basketball offensive and defensive strategies, tactics, and player development required Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively with students, parents, faculty and staff. Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to reach their full potential is essential. Commitment to upholding the values of sportsmanship, integrity, and teamwork is a must. Valid Driver's License and insurability required. Attendance at evening and weekend functions is required. About The Savannah Country Day School
